Lake George is a family-favorite vacation destination with fun for all ages. From amusement parks and beaches to mini golf and go-karts, you’ll find a variety of kid-friendly things to do. Take the trolley or ride the bike path from King Phillip’s Campground. We’re the closest full-service campground to Lake George, just 1.5 miles away!

Amusement & Water Parks

 

King Phillip’s is located just across the road from Lake George Expedition Park, where you can walk among life-sized dinosaurs in Dino Roar Valley or ride the Tilt-a-Whirl in the Magic Forest. Six Flags Great Escape & Hurricane Harbor is also close by, less than 4 miles down Route 9. Enjoy hundreds of coasters, water rides and shows for adults and kids of all ages.

Warren County Bikeway

 

Bring the bikes, or rent them locally, and go for a ride on the Warren County Bikeway. Our Lake George campground is located along the bike path, making it easy for families to make the 1.5-mile ride into Lake George Village, or head 8 miles south to the City of Glens Falls. Stop for a rest at the picnic tables and benches along the way, or grab a cone at Sprinkles ice cream shop, just off the path in Queensbury, NY.

Lake George Beaches

 

children playingThere are four family-friendly beaches on Lake George, as well as one especially for dogs. Million Dollar Beach is the largest and most popular spot, while Usher Park Beach is ideal for smaller children. Dog Beach is located along Beach Road in Lake George, between Million Dollar Beach and the steamboat docks. There’s also Shepard Park Beach in the heart of Lake George Village, and Rogers Memorial Park Beach and Veteran’s Memorial Park Beach in Bolton Landing.

Mini Golf & Go-Karts

 

little girl on a mini golf course with putterChallenge the kids to a little family-friendly competition on the go-kart track at Adventure Family Fun Center or The Fun Spot, both located just 4 miles south of King Phillip’s Campground, or head north toward Lake George Village for some mini golf. Goony Golf and Pirate’s Cove Adventure Golf of Lake George are less than a mile from our campground, and Lumberjack Pass Miniature Golf is less than 2 miles away. For double the fun, ride the bike path into Lake George Village for a game of putt-putt at Around the World Mini Golf.

Nearby Lake Luzerne, NY also offers a variety of family-friendly activities, including whitewater rafting at Sacandaga Outdoor Center, tubing on the Hudson River with Tubby Tubes, horseback riding at Mountain View Rocking B Ranch and great family entertainment at the Painted Pony Championship Rodeo.
